Aurinco Compact 100 - 100w Solar Panel

This is the world's largest ultrathin walk-able module! A single Aurinco Compact 100 panel can support loads like a refrigerator. With several modules in an array larger systems can be built to feed entire house battery needs.

The panel has 72 cells arranged in two separate circuits of 36 cells. This offers several advantages:
            (1) the shorter cells tolerate a slight bending when the module is mounted on a moderately curved surface;
            (2) if one circuit is blocked by shade the other will still provide power;
            (3) by limiting the power in each circuit to 50W the risk of creating a serious hotspot (can happen in larger modules) is minimal and eliminates the need for a power consuming bypass diode.

Construction: Monocrystalline silicon high efficiency photovoltaic cells mounted on anodized aluminum* coated with white Tedlar®. The top surface is laminated with transparent UV-resistant DuPont Tefzel® with an anti-skid texture. This composite provides superior strength compared to conventional framed panels.

Electrical properties: Pmax 100 W; Vpm 18 V; Ipm 5.6 A; Voc 22 V; Isc 6.2 A. Minimal back current, thus a blocking diode is not needed. The use of a solar charge controller is recommended.

Mounting: The panels are semirigid, they bend very slightly (about 3-4%). If necessary use marine grade moldings under the edges to compensate for cam. The panels can be mounted using bonding with 3M VHB double sided tape, epoxy or polyurethane adhesive/sealant which tolerate high temperatures, salt water, vibration and shocks. Four holes are provided for mounting screws, additional holes can be drilled along the white border. Wires are intentionally short so they can pass through two 9/64" (3.5 mm) holes, after which they are spliced to heavier gauge cable for the run to the batteries.
