Snagging a jib sheet on your cowl vent while tacking can be dangerous
and costly. It can cause damage to your rig, to the cowl vent and surrounding
deck, and possibly cause you to lose control of your vessel. Fully 20% of
the cowl vents we sell are bought as replacements for cowls which have been
torn out and launched over the side by errant jib sheets and other lines.

Our Dorade Cowl Guards are constructed of highly polished 1'' diameter,
type 304 stainless steel tubing, beautifully tig welded and machine polished
to a high luster. For extra strength and protection, heavier 0.065 wall
thickness is used.
